Benghazi, July 10, 2024 (LANA) - During the official session held today, Wednesday, at its headquarters in Benghazi, the House of Representatives voted unanimously to approve an additional allocation to the state’s general budget for the year 2024, submitted by the Libyan government, taking into account the representatives’ comments.

The Council also unanimously agreed during its session, which was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, and in the presence of the First and Second Vice Presidents, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi and Misbah Douma, to add a provision to Law No. (7) of 2024, regarding adding a provision to Law No. (5) of the year 2013, regarding social security, according to Council spokesman Abdullah Belhaq.

According to the law, the public treasury is responsible for covering the value of the increase resulting from the implementation of this law, starting from the date of its issuance, provided that it is included in the general budget annually for the benefit of the Social Security Fund.
