International and local companies participate in the Economics and Challenges of the Pharmaceutical Industry Conference in Tripoli

Tripoli, July 7, 2024 (LANA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health of the Government of National Unity, Ramadan Abu Jannah, opened yesterday, Saturday, in the capital, Tripoli, the exhibition accompanying the work of the First Libyan International Pharmaceutical Conference, which is organized by the Ministry of Health for two days, under the slogan “The Economics and Challenges of the Pharmaceutical Industry.” .

Participating in this exhibition, which was opened in the presence of Representative in the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, a number of ministers and officials of the National Unity Government, local and international experts, and many local and international companies specialized in manufacturing medicines.

Abu Jannah said in his speech during the opening of the conference that technical, financial and legal work teams will be formed to complete the procedural package and evidence necessary to facilitate the pharmaceutical industries, and to emphasize the role of therapeutic institutions, such as hospitals and specialized centers, in activating the concept of drug economics, and rationalizing use through successful and effective protocols and tracking the movement of items. He also stressed activating the role of clinical pharmacy in all therapeutic institutions in the public and private sectors, and creating partnerships with educational and training institutions in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, while ensuring the application of the principles and foundations of pharmacovigilance in various therapeutic institutions.

The Minister referred to establishing the necessary guidelines and controls for all specialties concerned with the circulation of medicines, especially antibiotics, updating pharmaceutical policies to keep pace with scientific developments and meeting the needs of Libyan society, and rationalizing the use of medicine by activating the role of the pharmacist in accordance with the role of the doctor in all therapeutic institutions as a pillar in providing effective medical service.
