Al-Dbaiba receives the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration.
Pulbished on:Cairo, July 04, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dbaiba, received at his residence in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, today, Thursday, the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration, Amy Pope.
The meeting discussed the issue of illegal immigration and the mechanism for unifying local and international efforts regarding it, in addition to the situation of Sudanese refugees in the city of Kofra and the areas targeted by the Trans-Mediterranean Migration Forum scheduled to be held in Tripoli in mid-July.
The meeting also discussed the efforts of the International Organization for Migration in implementing voluntary return flights for migrants and the necessity of unifying concepts, goals and efforts in this important file.
The meeting was attended by the organization’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Othman Al-Balisi, the organization’s first director, Catalina Devandas, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, “Adel Ghomaa,” the Libyan representative to the League of Arab States, “Abdul Muttalib Thabet,” and the official spokesman for the Council of Ministers, “Mohamed Hamouda.”
