Al-Toumi and the British Ambassador to Libya discuss aspects of joint cooperation.

Tripoli, July 4, 2024 (LANA) - Minister of Local Government, Badr al-Din al-Toumi, discussed with the British Ambassador, Martin Longden, aspects of joint cooperation in the field of local administration and support to municipalities.

 During the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Local Government in Tripoli yesterday, Wednesday, the government’s process in implementing the path of transformation to decentralization and empowering municipalities in their responsibilities was reviewed, as well as the file of local development, local revenues, digital transformation, community participation, and other files in which the government of national unity has achieved real achievements on The land has become a tangible reality.

 According to the official website of the Ministry of Local Government, Ambassador Longden provided a briefing on his visits to a group of regions in Libya and the meetings he carried out during those visits, expressing his complete satisfaction with the efforts made by the Government of National Unity in the path of transformation towards decentralization, praising those efforts, considering them the right pathو to achieve local development, bring service closer to citizens, and improve its quality.

 At the conclusion of the meeting, which was attended by the official of the Ministry’s International Cooperation Office, Khaled Al-Dabbagh, the strengthening of bilateral relations between Libya and Britain was emphasized, and the importance of pushing the level of cooperation towards broader horizons that serve common interests, especially in issues of common interest, most notably support for local administration.
