Al-Menfi, Takala and Dabaiba discuss a number of political and economic files.

Tripoli - June 30, 2024 - (LANA) - A meeting was held today, Sunday, at the headquarters of the Supreme Council of State, bringing together the President of the Presidential Council, “Mohamed Al-Menfi,” the President of the High Council of State, “Mohamed Takala,” and the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, “Abdulhamid Al-Dabaiba,” to discuss a number of political and economic files. 

The media office of the President of the Presidential Council said that during the meeting, it was emphasized to support local efforts to make the municipal elections a success, and to increase cooperation and coordination with the High National Elections Commission to ensure that its work is completed in positive conditions, in addition to supporting international efforts made to conduct parliamentary and presidential elections in accordance with fair and agreed-upon laws, and to unify local efforts to end the transitional stages.

It was also agreed on the necessity of working to implement the necessary national economic reforms to improve the conditions of citizens, and for the government to continue its commitments and provide the necessary allocations to it according to the approved timetables, and to support the efforts of the Ministry of Local Government in transferring competencies to municipalities to eliminate centralization, and to provide the necessary support and activate local development projects, The municipalities shall implement them according to the approved plans.

The office added that those gathered stressed the necessity of adhering to national sovereignty in managing resources through a higher financial committee to regulate government spending and make the necessary adjustments to ensure the performance of its duties, directing it to increase disclosure and transparency of all government expenditures, and adhering to court rulings issued without selection regarding the cancellation of the fee imposed on foreign exchange sales, focusing on a radical treatment of monetary policy, including the liquidity crisis, and working to address it to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
