Al-Dabaiba stresses the need to unify efforts to organize work at the Ras Jedir crossing and facilitate procedures for citizens.

Tripoli, June 26, 2024 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, stressed the need to unify efforts among all institutions to organize work at the Ras Jedir crossing, facilitate procedures for citizens, and coordinate with the Tunisian side in these aspects.

This came during the meeting held by Al-Dabaiba, today, Wednesday, in the Prime Minister’s Office, to follow up on the final arrangements for the opening of the Ras Jedir border crossing, according to the Prime Minister’s Media Office.

The meeting was attended by Acting Minister of Interior Imad Trabelsi, Assistant Chief of General Staff Salah Al-Namroush, Director of the Passports and Nationality Authority, Youssef Murad, and Director of the Administrative Centers Development and Development Authority, Ibrahim Takita.

The Assistant Chief of General Staff presented a position on his visit yesterday to the crossing, the security situation and the arrangements related to coordination between the security services, stressing full readiness in all security aspects.

The Director General of the Administrative Centers Development Authority reviewed the development and maintenance work for the port’s components, confirming the completion of the basic buildings at the crossing to begin work and the continuation of other work.

In turn, the Acting Minister of the Interior stressed during the meeting the importance of cooperation between the Ministries of Defense and the Interior with all their components in order to coordinate efforts to organize work inside the crossing.

The attendees confirmed, according to the media office, the readiness to open the outlet after all work has been completed.
