Tripoli, June 25, 2024 (Lana): U.S. Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, said that the key to Libya's stability remains reaching agreement on a roadmap leading to elections whose results are accepted by all key parties.
"The United States will remain engaged in supporting efforts to reach this goal,” Norland said in a tweet.
"Following two days of meetings with Libyan leaders, I believe there is a common understanding of the importance of finding ways to restore momentum to the UN-facilitated political process," Norland stated.
"Libya continues to need dialogue on transparency and accountability in the distribution of oil revenues, on enhancing border security, and on ensuring Libya’s sovereignty," he added.
