Pulbished on:Tripoli, June 24, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, issued his instructions on the necessity of opening the coastal road and completing the procedures for opening the Ras Jedir border crossing, in accordance with the government’s organizational plan, and implementing the agreement signed between the Libyan and Tunisian Ministers of the Interior.
This came during a meeting with Al-Dabaiba this Monday evening in the Prime Minister’s Office, with a delegation from the Municipal Council and a number of members of the Council of Notables and Elders in the municipality of Zuwara, in the presence of the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, according to the Prime Minister’s Media Office.
Al-Dabaiba confirmed, according to the office, that organizing the Ras Jedir crossing is a necessary step to provide its services to all Libyans, after completing the maintenance and development work carried out by the government.
The meeting was devoted to discussing a number of service issues and the conditions of the border crossing at Ras Jadir Zwarah, one of the border municipalities.
Al-Dabaiba issued instructions to the General Electricity Company to provide the necessary transformers to stabilize the public network in the municipalities of the West Coast, which reported that the materials have been supplied and the installation work will begin, which will be completed by mid-July.
The Prime Minister gave instructions to the Man-Made River Authority to proceed with two parallel projects, which are to complete the connection of the Ghadames wells to the municipalities of the West Coast, in addition to the urgent project to supply the pumps necessary to complete the connection of the wells of Birrfas to the municipalities of the West Coast, to provide drinking water, which is targeted to be completed before the end of this year.
During the meeting, according to the media office, Al-Dabaiba followed the stages of maintenance and operation of the Zwarah desalination plant, which has been out of operation for 10 years, and issued his instructions on the necessity of following the timetable for its completion to be the initial solution until the Man-Made River Authority projects are completed.
