HCS and the U.S. Embassy discuss developments in the political situation in Libya.

Tripoli, 24 June 2024 (Lana) Head of the High Council of State (HCS), Mohamed Takala, and his First and Second Deputies, Obaid and Al-Obeidi, received yesterday U.S. Special Envoy Richard Norland, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Libya, Berndt, and Christopher Lafarge, Director of the US Agency for International Development in Libya (USAID), and their accompanying delegation, at the Council’s headquarters.

The HCS stated that during the meeting they discussed the latest developments in the political situation in Libya and ways to advance it to reach national elections in accordance with the political agreements that meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.
