Al-Dabaiba receives Richard Norland
Pulbished on:Tripoli, June 23, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, received today, Sunday, in his office in the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli, the American Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, the Charge d’Affaires of the American Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Brent, the Deputy Military Attaché at the Embassy, and the Director of USAID Mission to Libya "Christopher Lafarge".
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated that the meeting discussed developments in the local and international political situation, cooperation files between the two countries, and efforts to advance the political process.
Al-Dabaiba reaffirmed the government's support for local and international efforts aimed at holding parliamentary and presidential elections in accordance with fair, enforceable laws, in addition to supporting United Nations efforts to address the political impasse, bring the country to elections, and achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people to end the transitional stages.
The two sides discussed joint projects with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and ways to enhance cooperation with the Ministry of Local Government regarding them.
