HoR expresses its astonishment at the lack of understanding of the Libyan situation among some international parties.

Tripoli, June 22, 2024 (Lana): In a statement issued yesterday, the House of Representatives (HoR) expressed its astonishment at the lack of understanding of the Libyan situation among some international parties that only see their own narrow interests and the condemnation of statements made by the Sudanese representative at the United Nations Security Council, who named Libya into the armed conflict between the Sudanese brothers.

The HoR said in its statement regarding the UN Security Council session on Libya on June 19, 2024, “It expresses its astonishment at the lack of understanding of the Libyan situation among some international parties that only see their narrow interests."

He added, after assigning eight international UN envoys to Libya without arriving at any map that would get Libya out of its crisis, despite the fact that the HoR had approved the electoral laws in accordance with the outcomes of the (6+6) Committee, which explicitly stipulated the formation of one new government to supervise the presidential and parliamentary elections within 240 days of giving it confidence.

The HoR stressed that these accusations are false, calling on the Sudanese brothers to raise the voice of truth and saying that it is ready to open a dialogue between them in Libya to stop bloodshed and reform among the brothers.
