Tripoli, June 20, 2024 (LANA) - The government appointed by the House of Representatives announced today, Thursday, the return of electricity to the Al-Majouri and Al-Ruwaisat areas in the city of Benghazi, after repairing the fault that caused the power to be cut off.

According to a government post on its official Facebook page, maintenance teams affiliated with the Ministry of Electricity and the General Electricity Company carried out the repair work, after the people of the two regions appealed to the Prime Minister, Osama Hammad, to intervene urgently to provide the necessary spare parts for the maintenance process.

The sources explained, that Hammad directed the provision of spare parts, and upon receiving the operational materials, the maintenance teams extended a 230-meter cable to connect two power distribution stations in the two regions, and transfer the loads from Al-Ruwaisat to Al-Humaidah, to solve the electricity problem in Al-Majouri.

The electricity company’s maintenance teams also installed a new transformer in the Bersis area, east of Benghazi to contribute to the stability of the electrical network, according to the same sources.
