Prison organization established for the purpose of regulating illegal immigration and human trafficking

Tripoli, June 13, 2024 (LANA) - The Tripoli Criminal Court ruled to convict those affiliated with the Foundations organization for the purpose of organizing illegal immigration and human trafficking.

The court’s ruling was issued after the Public Prosecution filed a criminal case against three defendants, who deliberately coordinated illegal immigration operations that crossed national borders, through an organization linked to other networks that practiced smuggling migrants across land and sea.

In its last session, the court ruled to convict the defendants, sentencing the first convict to a ten-year prison sentence, and a five-year prison sentence to the second and third convicts, and confiscating the means of transportation they used to transport the immigrants.
