Tripoli, June 11, 2024 (LANA) - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya welcomed the launch of the voter registration process for the upcoming municipal council elections in 60 municipalities.

The mission encouraged, through its X account, all qualified Libyans, including women and youth, to register to exercise their right to elect future leaders of their municipalities, noting that it is crucial not only for their daily lives but also for the overall development and stability of the country.

On June 9, the Election Commission announced the opening of the voter register for municipal council elections in 60 of the 160 municipalities targeted for election of their councils, during a press conference.
