Tripoli, June 11, 2024 (LANA) - The United States Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, welcomed the announcement by the High National Elections Commission of the launch of voter registration for the municipal elections, considering that this entitlement represents “a vital opportunity to demonstrate the integrity of Libya’s electoral infrastructure.”

 “Norland” said in a post on the account of the US Embassy in Libya on X yesterday, Monday, “I welcome the announcement of the High National Elections Commission about the launch of voter registration for the municipal elections.”

Ambassador Norland stressed that "successful municipal elections represent a vital opportunity to demonstrate the integrity of Libya's electoral infrastructure, a way to engage the Libyan people in the issues most important to them, and an opportunity for local communities to elect their local leaders."
