Tripoli, June 10, 2024 (LANA) - The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, reaffirmed the UN mission’s determination to help the Libyans launch a comprehensive process to end the political stalemate and achieve sustainable peace and stability.

This came during a meeting held by “Khoury” with members of the Supreme Council of the Berbers of Libya at the mission’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, according to what the mission published on its website.

Stephanie Khoury said on her account on the “X” platform that she listened to the concerns of the members of the Supreme Council of the Berbers of Libya regarding fair representation and meaningful participation in the political process and in decision-making circles, as well as meeting the urgent development needs of the population.

 She added that the meeting also touched on the situation at the Ras Jadeer border crossing, and that they stressed the need to find a peaceful solution to the existing tension.
