Signing of a memorandum of understanding for political consultation between the foreign ministries of Libya and the Czech Republic.

Tripoli, June 10, 2024 (LANA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity signed today, Monday in Tripoli, a memorandum of understanding for political consultation between the two countries with the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 The agreement was signed by the Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry, Abdul Rahman Al-Hadi Khammada, with the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Petr Hladik, as an affirmation of the desire of both parties to take the level of relations to broader horizons, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 The agreement stipulates that consultative political sessions will be held alternately in the two countries in order to advance and develop bilateral relations and coordinate positions on regional and international issues of common concern.

Bukhamada discussed with the Czech delegation at the ministry’s office the strengthening and development of cooperation relations in various fields to achieve the common interest of both parties.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, official consultations have begun between the two sides regarding the return of the Czech embassy to work from Tripoli, in continuation of the discussions that began between the two countries at the headquarters of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs last year, within the framework of the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to return foreign embassies to work from within the capital ,
