Tripoli, June 9, 2024 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, stressed the necessity of launching the second phase of the Future Schools project and implementing 1,000 new schools to contribute to improving the educational infrastructure.

This came during an expanded meeting held by the Prime Minister to follow up on the development plan for the year 2024 and support local development in the country, in the presence of the Acting Minister of Planning, “Mohammed Al-Zidani,” the Minister of Transportation, “Mohamed Al-Shahoubi,” the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, “Misbah Saqr,” and the Director General of the Administrative Centers Development and Development Authority, “Ibrahim Takita.” The Director General of the Transportation Projects Implementation Agency, Sami Al-Absh, and the Director General of the Housing and Utilities Projects Implementation Agency, Mahmoud Ajaj.

Al-Dabaiba directed the need to support municipalities in the development aspect in accordance with the Ministry of Local Government’s controls in contracting and implementation, and to focus on completing ongoing projects according to the approved timetables.

He also called for the necessity of contractual procedures to be in accordance with the approved standard prices and with the approval of the regulatory authorities, and for all procedures to be disclosed.

For his part, Al-Zaidani presented a position on the evaluation of development projects for the year 2023, the financial and technical completion rates and the difficulties facing a number of them, noting that the 2023 plan included 2,192 projects, including 1,060 new projects that focused on completing school projects that have been stalled for years, and health facilities in all areas. Its levels.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the steps taken by the executive bodies to invite contracted Chinese companies were discussed, and the technical and contractual discussions were completed in accordance with the results of the Prime Minister’s visit to China.
