Pulbished on:Benghazi, June 6, 2024 (LANA) - The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, visited yesterday, Wednesday, the Bernici University of Architecture and Urbanism in the city of Benghazi, during which she met with female and male students who had completed five years of study, whose graduation projects took the reconstruction of the city of Derna as their main topic.
The graduates presented to the Deputy Special Representative their projects, which included visions for the reconstruction of what was destroyed by Hurricane Daniel in the city of Derna, combining the latest architectural and urban planning techniques with the authentic character inspired by local architecture and Arab-Islamic architecture.
Khoury described the visit as inspiring, saying on her account on X that the young leaders she met are the real human capital of Libya and that they need to provide a favorable climate to unleash their energies.
