Al-Dabaiba follows the security situation in the municipalities of the West Coast

Tripoli, June 4, 2024 (LANA) - Today, Tuesday, the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, followed the security and service conditions in the municipalities of the West Coast.

This came during his meeting with the mayors of the West Coast municipalities, the Chief of General Staff and his assistant, the Director of Zawiya Security, a number of security services operating in the West Coast municipalities, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Government, in the presence of the Minister of Transportation, the directors of the executive agencies, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Technical Affairs, and the Director of the Interior Minister’s Office.

The government's media website reported that the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army and his assistant presented, during the meeting, a position on the security situation in the municipalities of the West Coast, and reviewed the security events that occurred during the current year and their causes, and a number of problems related to smuggling and selling drugs, the measures taken in their regard, and the situation in the municipality of Al-Jameel after the latest developments witnessed by the city, in addition to the work carried out to maintain and develop the Ras Jedir crossing and the steps planned to be taken to organize it.

The source explained that "Dabaiba" stressed during the meeting the need to confront the security situation, unify efforts to control security and combat destructive phenomena, and assigned the Chief of General Staff and the Ministry of Interior to develop a joint plan to extend security.

Al-Dabaiba stressed the need for citizens and municipalities to come together to support the security services in carrying out their tasks, pointing out the importance of removing social cover from criminals and outlaws until the West Coast and all its municipalities stabilize.
