Libyan military delegation participates in the “EFES2024” Turkish military exercises.

Tripoli, June 2, 2024 (Lana) Lieutenant General Mohamed al-Haddad, the Chief of General of the Libyan Army, and his accompanying delegation participated in the “EFES2024” Turkish military exercises in the presence of the military attaché in Turkey, a number of Turkish military leaders, and a number of defense ministers and chiefs of staff of multiple countries.

According to the Media Office of the Chief of Staff, on the sidelines of the “Distinguished Observer Day” activities, Al-Haddad met with the Turkish Chief of the General Staff, General Metin Gürak, and held a technical meeting with Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, where the discussions centered on enhancing training programs, developing the Libyan army, and strengthening military cooperation between both countries.

On the second day, al-Haddad participated in the program of the second of the exercises in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, which included extensive land, naval, and air military displays from the participating countries.

The Libyan army forces had participated in the tactical exercise in these exercises after an invitation was sent to the Ministry of Defense and the Chief of General Staff, and with instructions from the Chief of General Staff, orders were issued by the Military Operations Authority and the Training Department to equip a force from the Head of the Ground Forces, Navy, the Logistics Authority, and military units of a number of brigades and prepare a training plan with the participation of infantry and special forces.

The Turkish General Staff described the Libyan forces’ performance as “excellent,” highlighting the positive outcomes of their participation.
