The Chinese Foreign Minister praises the state of stability witnessed by Libya in recent years.
Pulbished on:Beijing, May 29, 2024 (LANA) - Chinese Foreign Minister and member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, Wang Li, praised the state of stability that Libya has witnessed in recent years, stressing that it encourages the return of economic activity between the two countries.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, today, Wednesday, the Chinese Foreign Minister welcomed the positive participation of the State of Libya in the work of the tenth session of the Arab-Chinese Forum, and the Prime Minister’s response to the invitation addressed to him by his Chinese counterpart, expressing his support for activating Libyan-Chinese relations, and discussing any difficulties they face.
For his part, Al-Dabaiba expressed the necessity of restoring political and economic cooperation between the two countries, pointing to historical relations that extend back more than 60 years.
During an expanded bilateral meeting, the two parties discussed a number of political and economic files, most notably the agreement to unify international political positions towards the Libyan file with the aim of reaching elections in accordance with fair and compatible laws, and actually starting the procedures for the return of the embassy to work from the capital, Tripoli, to be a positive point that contributes to activation, and follow-up Chinese interests in all fields.
The meeting touched on activating the agreements between the two countries, which amount to 18 agreements, coordinating to convene the Chinese-Libyan Higher Committee, and forming a joint committee to follow up on convening the committee and review the agreements.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, “Adel Jumaa,” the person in charge of managing the duties of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ office, “Al-Taher Al-Baour,” the Libyan representative to the League of Arab States, “Abdul Muttalib Thabet,” the Director of the Asia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “Nouri Al-Kaseh,” and the Chairman of the Libyan Investment Corporation, “Ali Al-Kaseh.” Mahmoud,” Libya’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, “Khaled Al-Sayeh,” and the official spokesman for the Council of Ministers, “Mohamed Hamouda.”
