Tripoli, May 28, 2024 (LANA) - Agencies affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior of the Government of National Unity concerned with cooperation with the European Union Support Mission for Integrated Border Management in Libya “EUBAM” discussed today, Tuesday, with a high-level delegation from the European Union Commission ways to support Libyan security capabilities in securing the borders. Combating organized crime and illegal immigration.

The media office of the Ministry of Interior stated, that the meeting was held at the headquarters of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation in the Ministry, and the meeting was chaired by the Director of the Department, Nour al-Din Abu Bakr Abu Jarida, on the Libyan side.

The office explained, that the agencies included Internal Security - Criminal Investigation - Narcotics and Psychotropic Substance Control - Border Guard, representatives of the General Administration of Training and the European Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Arab and International Criminal Police Office.
