UN Women organizes a conference in Tripoli to discuss the challenges facing women’s participation in elections

Tripoli, May 27, 2024 (LANA) - The High National Elections Commission, in partnership with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the United Nations Development Programme, organized a conference in Tripoli to discuss the most prominent challenges facing women in elections.

The conference, which was organized in cooperation with UN Women, also reviewed electoral laws, possible reforms, opportunities and challenges for women candidates to run in the legislative context.

The conference aims to identify the necessary measures to confront the challenges faced by female candidates for the national and municipal elections.
