Tripoli, May 27, 2024 (LANA) - The person in charge of managing the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, “Al-Taher Al-Baour,” met yesterday, Sunday, in Tripoli, with an American delegation that included the Chargé d’Affaires of the American Embassy in Libya, “Jeremy Brent,” and the Republican Director of Staff of the Ministry’s Special Appropriations Subcommittee State Department and Foreign Operations of the US Senate, Paul Grove.

Brent said in a tweet posted on the US Embassy’s account on the X platform that during the meeting, which he described as “excellent,” ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, as well as Libyan efforts to protect Libyan sovereignty amid regional instability.

The meeting discussed - according to Brent - the important role of civil society in helping to build a better, more stable and prosperous future for Libya.
