Pulbished on:Tripoli, May 26, 2024 (LANA) - The President of the High Council of State, “Mohamed Takala,” accompanied by members of the Presidential Office and Council Member, “Jomaa Al-Shawish,” received today, Sunday, the Chargé d’Affaires of the American Embassy in Libya, “Jeremy Brent,” accompanied by the Minority Clerk of the Appropriations Committee in Senator Paul Grove, Senior Advisor for Appropriations in the Office of Legislative Affairs at the US Department of State, Paul Reed Maker, Deputy Country Director for USAID, Nathan Park, and Evan Maher, Director of the Political and Economic Section at the US Embassy in Libya.
The media office of the High Council of State stated that during the meeting, they discussed developments in the Libyan political situation and how the American administration supports the United Nations mission to reach a political solution to unify state institutions and achieve stability with the aim of implementing fair national elections that end all transitional stages. Strengthening and developing areas of joint cooperation between the two countries were also discussed.
