Obaid discusses with Brent the latest developments in the Libyan political file.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, May 23, 2024 (LANA) - The First Vice President of the High Council of State, Masoud Obaid, met today, Thursday, with the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Brent, and his accompanying delegation, in the capital, Tripoli.
During the meeting, according to the Media Office of the High Council, the two parties discussed the latest developments in the Libyan political file, and stressed the need to strengthen relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to establish stability and security in Libya and in southern Libya in particular, and emphasized the necessity of preserving the country’s stability, unity and sovereignty, and making efforts to achieve national reconciliation.
According to the office, the meeting also discussed development challenges in the region and opportunities for success in making the city of Murzuq a model for sustainable development.
The First Deputy President of the High Council of State stressed the importance of the American role in supporting the UN mission to achieve its goals.
