Al-Dabaiba confirms the government’s support for United Nations efforts to stabilize the country through holding elections.

Tripoli, May 22, 2024 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, affirmed the government’s support for United Nations efforts to stabilize the country by holding elections in accordance with fair, consensual, and enforceable laws.

This came during Al-Dabaiba’s reception today, Wednesday, in Tripoli, of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Acting Head of the Mission, Stephane Khoury, and her accompanying delegation, where they discussed a number of political files at the beginning of its work.

According to the Prime Minister's Media Office, Al-Dabaiba pointed to the efforts made by the government with the parties related to the election file and the work accomplished in this regard.

During the meeting, Khoury stressed that the mission will continue to meet with all Libyan parties with the aim of continuing the United Nations plan to bring the country to elections in accordance with fair and consensual laws.
