The Chief of the Border Guard Staff discusses with the Italian Military Attaché the activation of agreements related to the file of illegal immigration and ways to combat it.

Tripoli, May 21, 2024 (LANA) - The Chief of the Border Guard and Vital Targets, Major General “Mohamed Lakri”, discussed in a meeting with the Military Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Libya, Colonel of the Sea “Francesco Marino”, the activation of the agreements related to the file of illegal immigration and ways to combat it between the two countries.
The meeting, which was attended by the commanders of the people in the corner and the delegation accompanying the Italian military attaché, discussed military and technical cooperation between the two sides in this field.
During the meeting, Major General Lakri stressed the necessity of cooperation in this field because of its importance in increasing the ability to secure and protect borders and prevent the phenomenon of smuggling, human trafficking and illegal immigration.
There was also discussion about raising the capabilities of border guard units and improving their performance through the optimal use of modern technical techniques and keeping pace with advanced technologies that contribute to protecting and securing borders.
