Ambulance and Emergency Services announces the death of one person and the injury of six others in the Al-Zawiya clashes.

Al-Zawiya, May 18, 2024 (LANA) - The Ambulance and Emergency Service announced that one person died and 6 others were injured in the clashes that broke out today, Saturday, in the city of Al-Zawiya.

The agency explained that the clashes broke out in the South Zawiya area since the dawn hours and extended from Sayyida Zeinab to Abu-Sorra, noting that the casualties so far are one person dead and six wounded.

The agency confirmed that the degree of readiness had been raised in the Al-Zawiya Center and Al-Zawiya Al-Gharb branches, in cooperation with the Red Crescent.

The agency reported that entry into the area of clashes was almost non-existent, while a number of families were evacuated after the clashes stopped for a short time.

The media office of the Ambulance and Emergency Service said that the situation is now calm, with intermittent clashes in the Abu-Sorra area, south of Zawiya.
