Jeddah, May 18, 2024 (LANA) - Libya participated with a delegation headed by the Minister of Education and Chairman of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, “Musa Al-Magarif,” in the work of the regular session of the Executive Council, and the 27th regular session of the General Conference of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Education delegation participating in this session, which was held from May 14 to 17, included the Director of the Center for Educational Curricula and Educational Research, the Director of the General Center for Training and Educational Development, the Minister’s Advisor for Information Technology, the Director of the Information and Documentation Department, and the Head of the ALECSO Division of the National Committee for Education and Culture. And science.

In his speech at the conference, Al-Magarif reviewed the achievements of the Ministry of Education in Libya during the past year, highlighting the role of various school activities in enhancing the sources of knowledge among students and teachers.

Al-Magarif stressed the commitment of the National Unity Government to developing the field of education in Libya and improving its infrastructure, praising the government’s success in establishing a number of modern model schools and rehabilitating hundreds of public schools to achieve sustainable development goals.

The conference sessions witnessed the adoption of a set of activities and programs proposed by the organization’s various committees, and the approval of Libya assuming the presidency of the session of the Science, Information and Communication Committee.

The conference participants approved the request of the State of Libya to host a group of activities that will have a pivotal role in supporting the plans of the Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Technical Education, and Culture during the years 2025 and 2026.
