Al-Zawiya, May 18, 2024 (LANA) - The Notables' Speaker in Al-Zawiya, Ahmed Khamaj, confirmed that efforts are being made by the city’s notables and elders to reach a calm between all parties, calling on the security authorities to carry out their responsibilities and support the efforts being made.

For his part, a member of Zawiya Council of Notables and Elders, Imad Ammar, said that communication is taking place between all parties and that there are indicators of the success of these efforts after the cautious clashes stopped hours ago.

The spokesman for the Ambulance and Emergency Service, Osama Ali, announced that the agency and the Libyan Red Crescent - Zawiya branch were able to extract some families who were trapped during the clashes that took place in several areas of the city of Zawiya, and that fixed teams stationed on Al-Zahraa Road are working to provide their services to the residents in the areas of clashes.
