Libyan-Bahraini discussions in the areas of social affairs.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, May 18, 2024 (Lana): GNU Minister of Social Affairs, Wafaa Al-Kelani, discussed with Bahraini Minister of Social Development, Osama Al-Asfour, bilateral cooperation and exchange of experience between the two ministries within the framework of implementing Arab and international decisions related to social protection.
This came on the sidelines of the high-level event held under the title “Entrepreneurship...Towards Empowering People with Disabilities and Productive Families” in Bahrain.
According to the communication office of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the meeting focused on bilateral cooperation and the exchange of experiences in the area of supporting people with disabilities.
For her side, Al-Kelani briefed her Bahraini counterpart about the ministry and its affiliated entities and the Ministry’s most important work and initiatives, including programs to empower people with disabilities and involve them into education, and an overview of the legislation and laws in force in the social aspect, including the “Wife and Children Grant Law, which was activated within the initiative” “Return to Life” launched by Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Al-Dabaiba for all social work programs, in addition to the Ministry’s strategic projects that have begun to be implemented, including: developing the national strategy for social protection and the unified social registry, the project to prepare the unified Libyan classification for people with disabilities, and other programs.
The Bahraini Minister stressed the importance of joint cooperation and holding other meetings between the two ministries to enhance cooperation mechanisms and exchange experiences, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and communication to enhance Libyan-Bahraini work in various social development areas and to support the Arab Family Organization in this field.
