Communications and Informatics Authority announces the launch of the National Policy for Artificial Intelligence.

Tripoli, May 17, 2024 (LANA) - The Communications and Informatics Authority announced today, Friday, the launch of the National Artificial Intelligence Policy for the State of Libya on its official website, on the occasion of the anniversary of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day scheduled for May 17, under the slogan “Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development.”

The Authority stated that this day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the communications and information technology sector and its pivotal role in improving people’s lives and promoting sustainable development worldwide.

Also explained that, over the past years, Libya has witnessed a qualitative shift in the field of communications infrastructure, the spread of Internet services has increased, and electronic applications have developed significantly.

Pointing out that, the Communications and Informatics Authority strives to make communications and information technology available to everyone at reasonable prices, improve the quality of services provided and encourage innovation in this field.

The authority also seeks to achieve its vision of (a sustainable and secure digital sector for a connected knowledge society and transforming Libya into an international transit center across Africa).

The Authority calls on all citizens to benefit from communications and information technology services positively, and to contribute to building an advanced digital society in Libya.
