Course on the arts of writing a press report kicked off yesterday at LANA training center.

Tripoli, May 16, 2024 (LANA) - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan News Agency (LANA), Mr. Abdel Basset Abudayia, stressed the importance of training in developing skills, and building capabilities for workers in this ancient institution.

“Mr. Abudayia”  at the opening of the course on the arts of writing a press report, which was launched yesterday at the training center of the Libyan News Agency in the main center in Tripoli and will last 10 days, said that, "The Libyan News Agency Foundation decided to launch training courses in the journalistic and technical fields according to clear training plans to promote journalistic work and enable the agency to competition in the era of information revolution, communication and modern technologies".

He pointed out, that the agency will strengthen its human resources with a batch of new graduates from various Libyan universities, stressing that journalistic work requires continuous training.

Mr. Abudayia also expressed his satisfaction with the involvement of women in journalistic fields and appreciated their commitment to participating in all training courses, noting that the women in the agency, despite their prestigious university qualifications, were marginalized in administrative positions.

In turn, the Training and International Relations Advisor, Ali Al-Dallali, confirmed that this course, which specializes in the arts of writing press reports, aims to develop the trainees’ skills and support the agency’s editorial hall with qualified elements for journalistic work.

Chief of (PANA) North Africa Bureau Mr. Al-Dallali, explained that the aim of this course is to develop the individual skills of the agency’s trainees in the field of writing the press report, which relies on narration, description, interrogation, dialogues conducted by the journalist, and personal impressions.

On this occasion, he saluted the keenness of the Board of Directors and the General Administration to raise the level of journalistic performance at the Libyan News Agency.

It is noteworthy that the Libyan News Agency has developed a training plan covering the year 2024 for journalists and correspondents in the main center - Tripoli and the General Administration - Benghazi, and will soon include all correspondents in the regions with the aim of developing the capabilities and skills of the agency’s female and male journalists and empowering them with the arts of journalistic work.
