Britain's delegate to the Security Council announces his country's support for the investigations of the Attorney General's Office into the situation in Libya.
Pulbished on:New York, May 14, 2024 (LANA) - Britain's delegate to the Security Council announced his country's support for the ongoing investigations being conducted by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, and the progress that has been made regarding the situation in Libya.
In his speech during the briefing presented by the ICC Prosecutor, Karim Khan, on Tuesday before the UN Security Council, the British delegate appreciated the road map announced by the office for the coming period, calling for continued cooperation between the International Criminal Court and the Libyan authorities on a permanent basis in order to establish justice and redress for the victims for the benefit of all of Libya.
The British diplomat considered that the road map announced by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court for the coming period in Libya paints a clear picture of the stage of investigations to be conducted, and took into account the viewpoint of the victims and their families, pointing out that the exchange of information between the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and the Libyan authorities facilitates the work of the office’s team. To establish justice for the benefit of all of Libya.
