Norland meets with Bengdara.

Tripoli 24 January 2024 (Lana) a meeting was held on Monday in Tripoli by Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, with the U.S. Special Envoy Ambassador, Richard Norland, to discuss the NOC’s production increase strategy.
Richard said in a tweet by the U.S. Embassy, “Great opportunity to discuss the NOC’s production increase strategy yesterday with Chairman Bengdara. Libya’s economic future depends on the energy sector, and the NOC’s leadership is vital and its technocratic integrity must be protected.”
“We congratulate the NOC for looking toward a greener future and unveiling its new decarbonization strategy at COP28.” Norland said.
“The United States looks forward to partnering with the NOC to address our common climate goals,” he added.
