Mnifi discusses with Guterres developments in the political process in Libya.
Pulbished on:Kampala, January 20, 2024 (LANA) - President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnifi, discussed, today Saturday, in the Ugandan capital, with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, developments in the political process in Libya.
The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, dealt with developments in the political process in Libya and the role of the Presidential Council in supporting comprehensive political dialogue between the Libyan parties, and in leading the national reconciliation process.
According to the media office of the President of the Council, the two sides discussed the latest regional and international developments, most notably the continuation of the aggression against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, where Al-Mnifi praised the role of the Secretary-General and his positions towards the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and his continued calls for an immediate ceasefire.
