Al-Menfi affirms that the time has come to end the transitional stages in Libya.

Kampala, January 20, 2024 (Lana): The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, confirmed that the time has come to end the endless transitional stages in Libya and enable the people to reach their legitimate right to go to vote boxes and benefit from the state of stability that the country is witnessing.

Al-Menfi said in his remark at the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Uganda yesterday that Libya has been going through long-term transitional stages for more than 12 years and citizens are tired of it, and the time has come to end these endless stages, noting that the Presidential Council is working to achieve this goal as well as comprehensive national reconciliation among Libyans.

Al-Menfi expressed his welcome to the role of UNSMIL in facilitating dialogue between the Libyan parties, as well as the African Union’s role in consolidating the national reconciliation process, commending the role of all friendly countries that work to support the will of Libyans and contribute positively to advancing the political process and supporting the leadership and national ownership of the solution.

Al-Menfi called on everyone to stop all types of foreign political interference in Libyan affairs.
