Libyan Tribes will demand the UN envoy to support Libya carry out his mission to resolve the Libyan crisis.

Tripoli, January 19, 2024  (LANA) - Many members of the Libyan Tribal Union are arriving from all parts of Libya, to participate in the protest called by their union body on Sunday, the 21st of this month.

The Vice President of the Union, Dr. Faraj Talouba, stated in a call with the Libyan News Agency that, (this pause comes within the scope of the Libyans’ demands to the UN envoy Abdullah Batili, appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, to resolve the Libyan crisis since the second of September 2022, and he has not achieved any step towards resolving or solving this crisis, which constitutes a follow-up to the failure suffered by the previous UN envoys since 2011).

Talouba added, “Batelli and his delegation will be asked clearly, whether he is able, in the period remaining for him to renew his mission, to achieve success towards forming a single temporary government to conduct business, and empowering the Libyans listed in the electoral registry, whose number exceeds 2.8 million Libyan has their electoral right, or he leaves.
