Takala and a delegation of notables from Wadi al-Shati discuss ways to support stability and national reconciliation.

Tripoli, January 16, 2024 (Lana) Head of the High Council of State (HCS), Mohamed Takala, met yesterday with a delegation of notables and elders from Wadi al-Shati at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli.
According to the communication office of the HCS, the meeting discussed the obstacles and problems that Southern Libya suffers from, most notably smuggling and its negative impact on the livelihood and lives of citizens, in addition to discussing ways to support stability, national reconciliation, and social peace.
For his part, Takala stressed the council’s support for the efforts to improve the conditions of Libyan citizens in the south, highlighting that inclusive national reconciliation must be achieved with the agreement of all parties in order for security and stability to prevail.
Takala also stated the importance of the role of municipalities, notables, and elders in uniting the Libyan people, supporting inclusive national reconciliation, and enhancing social and political ties in the country.
