Tripoli, January 16, 2024 (Lana) The person in charge of managing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Government of National Unity (GNU), Taher Al-Baour, met yesterday in Tripoli with the Congolese Foreign Minister, Jean-Claude Jacosso, and discussed a number of issues related to the African Union and its serious endeavors in the national reconciliation file.

A source at the Foreign Ministry reported to the Libyan News Agency that during the meeting, Jacosso handed Al-Baour a letter from President Denis Sassou to the head of the GNU, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba.

The meeting discussed the role played by the Republic of Congo-Barzaville under the leadership of President Nguesso, who is charged by the African Union Commission with the Libyan reconciliation file.

During the meeting, they affirmed that Libya is restoring its effective and important role in addressing issues and crises, whether on the African continent or at the regional and international levels.
