Al-Lafi meets with the Russian Ambassador to Libya.

Tripoli, January 14, 2024 (Lana) Representative of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, discussed yesterday with the Russian Ambassador to Libya, Aydar Aganin, the latest developments of the political process in Libya and a number of international and regional issues.

The communication office of the Council stated that the meeting reviewed Bathily’s initiative related to the dialogue between key actors participating in the political process, as well as the national reconciliation file and efforts made to achieve its goals through preparation for an inclusive national conference in which all segments of the Libyan people and members will participate and representatives of various key actors.

Aganin stressed his country’s readiness to support the dialogue and the political solution to the crisis in Libya, commending the role of Al-Lafi and the council in addressing the political impasse and the steps taken in the national reconciliation project to move towards achieving the aspirations of the Libyan people.
