Pulbished on:Tripoli, January 9, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Minister of Defense, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, visited the Academy of Naval Studies this Tuesday evening, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff, Muhammad Al-Haddad, to determine the progress of work at the college, inspect the conditions of the students, and the difficulties facing the academy.
The college students received the Prime Minister through a military parade, welcoming his visit, after which he inspected the college’s components and the maintenance carried out in it, while listening at the same time to comprehensive explanations from the college administration about the workflow, the curricula, the difficulties facing the faculty members, and the efforts made to be accredited and provide its services for the civil maritime sector in addition to its basic tasks.
Al-Dabaiba issued instructions to the Administrative Centers Development Agency, in coordination with the Chief of General Staff, to prepare designs for the academy to be a scientific complex that includes all the colleges affiliated with the Ministry of Defense, and to carry out the necessary maintenance and additional construction for it.
He also issued instructions on the necessity of coordination between the Maritime Transport Authority and the Maritime Academy to adopt curricula related to the civil aspect so that it becomes an accredited academy that produces cadres to benefit from in the civil and military fields.
In a speech, the Prime Minister praised the efforts made to restore life to the academy after an interruption of more than 10 years, calling on all students to mobilize their resolve in order to be national cadres who contribute to building their country and whose loyalty is to God and the homeland.
