Tripoli, December 30, 2023 (Lana): The Ministry of Oil and Gas welcomed the positions of the sovereign and official authorities in Libya in rejecting the intention of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to contract with a coalition of companies (Eni) of Italy, (ADNOC) of the Emirates, and (Total) of France and agreeing to grant them a 40% share of the production of the field (M N7A), located in Hamada Al-Hamra.

In a statement, the ministry also welcomed the statements of denunciation issued by many Libyans who did not and will not accept neglecting them.

The Ministry confirmed that, since the first hours of the news of the negotiations, it had become aware of the dangers, disadvantages, and harm that would result from them, so it was quick to alert others.

It stated that it addressed and corresponded with many authorities, the first of which was the NOC and the rest of the legislative, executive, supervisory, and accounting bodies.

It added that it believes that Libya must develop this discovery in partnership with Libyan financial institutions or through borrowing.

The ministry called on the decision-makers to reconsider the matter, act according to the instructions of the supervisory and judicial authorities, and take into account what the ministry presented in this regard, including a committed, national technical opinion issued by experience and knowledge.
