The High National Elections Commission is following up on preparations for the launch of municipal council elections scheduled for early next year.

Tripoli, December 28, 2023 (LANA) - The Chairman of the Council of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, continued today, Thursday, with the directors of the Commission’s technical departments, preparations for the launch of the municipal council elections scheduled for the beginning of next year.
The Commission's media office stated that the meeting discussed the technical procedures for the registration stage, the mechanism for linking the phone number to the national number as one of the registration requirements, and the electoral awareness plan accompanying the voter registration process.
According to the media office, the President and members of the Council made an inspection tour of the Communication and Assistance Center, during which they were briefed on the level of preparations for opening the center in the elections.
The meeting was attended by Council members Abdul Hakim Al-Shaab and Abu Bakr Marada, the General Director, Muhammad Akhis, department directors, department heads, the international support team, and representatives of the IFES Electoral Systems Organization.
