British Ambassador assures Al-Mnifi of his country's support for the Batilli initiative.

Tripoli, December 19, 2023 (LANA) - President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnifi, discussed, today, Tuesday, with the British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden, developments in the political situation in Libya.

The Council's media office reported that the British ambassador confirmed, during the meeting held at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli, his country's support for the initiative of the UN envoy Abdullah Batilli, which aims to ensure the success of the electoral process and achieve stability in all parts of Libya.

According to the media office, the British ambassador praised the pivotal role played by the President of the Presidential Council in bringing together the political parties and advancing the political process in a way that achieves the desires and aspirations of all Libyans.

In turn, Al-Mnifi affirmed his commitment to the necessity of ending all transitional stages through fair and impartial elections with the participation of all Libyans, expressing his appreciation for Britain’s role in supporting the Presidential Council and stability in Libya, according to the media office.
