    Benghazi, December 19, 2023  (LANA) - The US Embassy in Libya reported that the US Special Envoy, Ambassador Richard Norland, and the Chargé d’Affairs at the US Embassy, Jeremy Brent, discussed with the Commander of the Libyan National Army, Khalifa Haftar, in Benghazi today, Tuesday, the best ways to enhance vital work. Which is carried out by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, "Batilli", to bring together the political parties in Libya to resolve the issues that stand in the way of elections and a unified national government.

The embassy added that during the meeting, they had stressed on the importance of unifying the Libyan army, preserving Libya’s sovereignty, and ensuring that funds are spent for the reconstruction of Darna and other areas affected by the floods, in a transparent manner, led by experts, and with strong technical support from international institutions.
