(Al-Magarief) discusses with (Al-Sayeh) the Commission’s preparations for implementing municipal council elections during the next year

Tripoli, December 18, 2023 AD - The Minister of Education, Musa Al-Magarief, discussed with the Head of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, preparations for implementing the municipal council elections, which will be held for the first time under the supervision of the Commission.

Al-Magarief affirmed his support for the electoral process, to create the appropriate conditions for holding the elections through educational institutions that will be used as electoral centers.

The meeting, which was held at the Ministry’s office, discussed Law No. 20 of 2023, the requirements of the electoral process, and the timetable prepared for implementing the elections for 98 municipalities at once during the next year, in addition to awareness-raising efforts and motivating citizens to register, and providing the Ministry with a list of names of electoral centers.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to continue communication between the two sides in implementation of the frameworks of cooperation between them, and to ensure the success of the electoral process.
