Tripoli, December 18, 2023, (Lana), the UNSMIL announced that the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Abdoulaye Bathily, will brief the Security Council (SC) on the latest developments in the situation in Libya today at 5 o’clock.
During the briefing, the developments of Bathily’s initiative related to the five-party table that will bring together active political parties with the aim of reaching parliamentary and presidential elections will be reviewed.
Bathily will brief the SC on the developments regarding the reconstruction efforts following Storm Daniel, which struck the east of the country in Derna and the neighboring cities of Jabal Akhdar, in addition to addressing the fragile security situation in Libya.
